IMPF's 1st Annual Policython

The Policython is a case competition-style conference where students are given the opportunity to present policy recommendations to government.

Students will compete virtually for over +$1000 in cash prizes, gain new policy analysis skills, and have the opportunity to network with experts in the field.

The Policython will take place the week of January 22nd, with a 48-hour competition period, followed by presentations from the finalists that Sunday.

Teams consist of 2-4 students, and the conference is open to students of all ages.

So what is the Policython?
Part Case Competition
University students from across Canada will have the opportunity to develop policy recommendations related to the 'circular economy' and compete to be the first Policython winner.
Part Networking Event
Students will have the opportunity to learn from and speak with judges, panelists, and speakers in the policy field, gaining insights as to possible career paths as well as ways to break in to the industry.
Part Learning Opportunity
Throughout the week, students will have access to policy analysis seminars, panel discussions, and hands-on opportunities to apply themselves and learn more about public policy.
Part Discussion Panel
The IMPF's partner, the Lawrence National Centre (LNC), will be hosting a panel discussion with distinguished guests like former Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz and Maclean's columnist Paul Wells
