ROLE DESCRIPTIONS

Executive Director

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the executive team in crafting the long term strategic vision of the IMPF.

  • Serve as the liaison between the board of advisors and the professor sponsor, ensuring communication between these two groups and that the goals of the professor are achieved. 

  • Ensure the advisor board is staffed with capable research fellows, leading this recruiting process.

  • Direct and delegate work to the various executive team members, ensuring the timely and effective completion of their work. 

  • Serve as the point person for communication with the MScA, Ivey, and Western. 

  • Work with the executive team to craft a recruiting strategy and timeline

Director of Policy

Responsibilities:

Director of Operations

Responsibilities:

  • The first person to identify and work to fix any organizational problems the IMPF team experiences.

  • Assist the executive director in ensuring the effective management of the organization, working with the other directors to identify problems before they become too serious.

  • Serve as the liaison between the analysts and the executive board and research fellows.

  • Provide support to the analysts in completing their research projects.

  • Assist the director of professional development in hosting lunch n learns and other educational initiatives with sponsors or partners.

  • Coordinate with the Director of Policy to identify research opportunities related to partners or sponsors promoting the future growth of IMPF.

What you bring to the role:

  • Detail-oriented person who loves to work on the fly and put out fires.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate between different teams and individuals.

  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve organizations without external pressures.

  • Experience with the organizational sponsorship/ partnership process.

Director of Professional Development

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of internal training for all analysts and executives. 

  • Plan and facilitate lunch n learns and other educational activities once every 1-2 weeks to ensure the professional development of club members.

  • Serve as a source of career advice and mentorship to analysts. 

  • Work with the Director of Partnerships to identify opportunities to utilize relationships with sponsors and partners to help with the IMPF analysts’ professional development. 

  • Identify and create opportunities for the faculty advisor to help in the team’s professional development. 

 

What you bring to the role:

  • Demonstrated passion for the professional development of others.

  • Understanding of the skills necessary to succeed as a policy analyst and how to teach them.

  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Appreciation for working with and helping others. 

  • Interested in human capital development and organizational success.

Director of Marketing

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the long-term marketing and communications strategy for the IMPF.

  • Direct all social media communications for the IMPF, ensuring the organization’s external messaging is in line with the long-term goals.

  • Work with the Director of Policy to turn the rough drafts of deliverables into documents that are ready for publishing.

  • Serve as the source of design thinking for the team, leading the development of the IMPF website.

  • Assist in communicating with external partners and sponsors.
